  5.           Grendel the Megalover
  6. ---------------------------------------
  7.   It  was an extremely beautiful August
  8. evening,  when Grendel decided to go to
  9. dance.  He  was  in  a hopeful mood and 
  10. whistled  on  the  way.  He had finally
  11. decided to overcome his shyness and hit
  12. a girl, maybe even kiss her in the soft
  13. August moon shine under a leafy tree.
  14.   On  the  dancing  place he noticed to
  15. his  disappointment that there was once
  16. more little hope. Even though he walked
  17. amongst the girls and looked all around
  18. he  couldn't find suitable one.For some 
  19. reason  all  girls  seemed to be taller 
  20. than average, and he didn't know how to 
  21. kiss a girl two heads taller than he.
  22.   Dances  were  closing  to the end and 
  23. Grendel began feel panicky. He searched
  24. and  searched  but a girl of a suitable 
  25. height  simply  wasn't  there.  Finally 
  26. girls  began to leave, one by one, some
  27. with  a boy, and finally there was only 
  28. the orchestra playing the last waltz, a
  29. couple  of  orderlies and a girl, 30 cm 
  30. taller   than  Grendel.  He  encouraged 
  31. himself,  asked  the  girl for the last
  32. #move 325,0
  33. waltz   and  told  her  that  he  would 
  34. accompany her home.
  35.  - Don't bother, I live 20 km from here
  36. and the last bus has already gone.
  37.  - That's  okay,  I  don't  really have 
  38. anything   else to do, said Grendel and
  39. thought  feverishly, how he should act.
  40. A tall gal was pretty hard to handle.
  41.   They  left  and  chatted. A couple of 
  42. miles  from  the  dancing place Grendel
  43. saw  a  blacksmith's  and  asked her to 
  44. come  and  warm  up  a  bit.  When they 
  45. entered,   Grendel   had  an  idea  and 
  46. noticed  that  the  anvil was about the 
  47. right  height. He climbed on the anvil,
  48. drew  the  girl near himself and kissed 
  49. her  hotly.  After  a while girl wanted 
  50. to go on and so they went.
  51.   They walked on and the night wore on.
  52. Girl's  home started to loom on the end
  53. of the road, and Grendel thought again. 
  54. He noticed a hay barn that had the door 
  55. ajar and suggested that they go to warm 
  56. up  a  bit again. Girl said no and that 
  57. she  had  had  enough  kissing  for the 
  58. night.  Grendel sighed resignatedly and
  59. said: - If  no then no. I guess it's no
  60. use carrying this anvil, either.
